'I'm a happy priest'Robert Delaney For more than 70 years Msgr. Ferdinand DeCneudt, the oldest priest in the archdiocese, has celebrated Sunday Mass. These days he can no longer stand, so a wheelchair-accessible table is dressed in front of the main altar at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Church for the 11 a.m. Sunday liturgy so the 97-year-old priest can continue to minister as he has done since 1939.
As a child, I was like any typical little girl. I loved playing with my baby dolls and Barbies; however, for some reason I would play dress up pretending I was the Blessed Mother. There are many pictures of me walking around the house with a dishtowel or baby blanket on my head pretending to be Mary. There was something about Mary that almost fascinated me, something about this special lady had from the time I was small.

Diocese opens inquiry into possible miracle credited to Bishop Baraga
John Fee Marquette The cause for sainthood for Bishop Frederic Baraga, first bishop of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, took a giant step forward this month when Bishop Alexander K. Sample announced at a March 10th news conference, "We believe that we have a miracle a medical miracle that we can attribute to the intercession of Bishop Baraga."

Archbishop Allen Vigneron's proposal to revive First Friday devotions was met with enthusiasm by a local group that has made gathering for Mass the first Friday of each month a regular practice for more than a decade.

Faith Matters: Unplanned pregnancy challenged, affirmed my faith in God
Angela Masters On Good Friday of 2004, I underwent major surgery that forever changed the way my body works. Because of the nature of the surgery, I was cautioned by doctors not to get pregnant for at least two years. My husband, Jeff, and I are practicing Catholics who do not use artificial birth control.
