The Lord's Prayer
The Lord's Prayer is the foundation of the Church's daily prayer. This prayer is based on the Lord's words found in the sixth chapter of Matthew's Gospel. Each Christian is commended to pray the Lord's Prayer in the morning, during the day and at night.
The Our Father:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
